Dr Zaki is an ICU specialist Currently at Central Manchester University Hospital, Manchester UK.He is also a member of the ESICM & EDIC certified. He graduated from Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University in 1995. He then spent 1 year as a house officerat Cairo University Hospitals, following which started his residency programme at Cairo University in 1998. He was then appointed as assistant lecturer in Critical Care Medicine Cairo University, Beni- sweif branch, then obtained his Master degree in Critical Care at 2002.In 2008, Dr Zaki successfully obtained his MD degree in Critical Care after which he was appointed as Lecturer in Critical Care Medicine Beni -sweif University.
Dr Zaki then worked as a senior clinical fellow in ICU at Manchester University Hospital from 2009-2011 after which he spend 1year working in Paediatric ICU as a senior clinical fellow. He then joined the cardiothoracic ICU team at Wythenshaw Hospital for 1 and half yearsas a senior clinical fellow where he gained experience in cardiothoracic Critical Care & respiratory ECMO (including mobile retrievals), extra-corporeal support for heart and lung transplantation and acute heart failure management including short term & long term cardiac assist devices (LVAD, BIVAD). He has developed a special interest in respiratory ECMO where he has received an ECMO specialist certificate from Leicester University, UK.
